Francisco, a California painter, was born in a small village in the mountains of Michoacan, Mexico. As a child he was subjected to issues of race, poverty and immigration which have shaped his views as an artist today. His work focuses on the concepts of skin color and cultural background and offers us a window that reflects his attitudes on dress, society, personality and perceptions of others.
