Naomi Pitcairn - Outlaw Artist

Hurrah for outspoken people who are able to access the rich and famous!

Francisco Alonzo

I would like to introduce you to the work of Francisco Alonzo, a California painter.

Tiger Tribe

Quoting Francisco: “We need bad things to happen in order to justify keeping the police around, better yet we label things illegal in order to accept them as bad things so then they can be policed.” He is interested in exposing stereotypes that force him to assume a certain type of persona in American society.

Libertad O Muerte

The use of the mask, taken from his Mexican background, enables his figures to make a strong statement but with empathy for those who choose to cover their faces. We see influences of Posada, Goya and James Ensor who all sought to balance the scales for society in a provocative and sometimes twisted way.
